About this First Attack Firefighting Equipment Course

Need to train your team to respond quickly to a workplace fire? You’re in the right place.

This course provides the skills and confidence required to respond to a fire using first attack firefighting equipment, including fire extinguishers, hose reels, and fire blankets. It’s ideal for employees who may be the first to respond in an emergency.

Participants will learn how to assess a fire situation, select the correct equipment, and safely extinguish small, controllable fires—following workplace procedures and WHS protocols.

Course Outline

The CPPFES2005 – Demonstrate First Attack Firefighting Equipment course includes both theory and practical training focused on real-world fire scenarios.

Training includes:

  • Fire emergency awareness and hazard identification

  • Equipment selection for different fire types

  • Safe use of:

    • Portable fire extinguishers

    • Fire hose reels

    • Fire blankets

  • Concluding and reporting fire response actions

  • Clean-up and post-incident procedures

The course is practical, hands-on, and designed to ensure participants are ready to act confidently in a fire emergency.

All course participants must be:

  • 18 years or older
  • Able to read, understand, and write English
  • Able to produce and meet the evidence of identity criteria as per SafeWork / Worksafe identification requirements

Protective Personal Equipment – safety boots, high-visibility vests, and hard hats– is mandatory.

If a participant requires a reassessment for a High-Risk Work Licence an additional $250.00 + GST reassessment fee will apply.

This course is available by private booking and can be customised to suit your operational needs, including:

  • After-hours or shift-friendly scheduling

  • Delivery at your workplace or at one of our training centres in NSW, QLD, or VIC

  • Can be bundled with Fire Warden (PUAFER005) training for a complete emergency preparedness package

Learning Outcome
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify fire types and assess fire emergencies

  • Select and operate the correct firefighting equipment

  • Demonstrate safe and effective use of:

    • Fire extinguishers

    • Fire hose reels

    • Fire blankets

  • Complete fire response and secure the area safely

Outcome
Participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for CPPFES2005 – Demonstrate First Attack Firefighting Equipment.

If a participant withdraws from a qualification/unit, with less than seven (7) business days notice prior to commencement, Kallibr Training reserves the right to retain the 30% administration booking fee.

No refund will be provided within two (2) business days prior to commencement. No refund will be permitted after course commencement or if a participant fails to attend on the scheduled commencement date.
