Further Information

What is an EWP?

In Australia, an elevated work platform (EWP) refers to a specialized piece of equipment widely used in various industries to provide safe and efficient access to elevated work areas. There are many variations of EWPs, but they can be classified as either Boom type or Scissor type. It is designed to lift workers and their tools to otherwise hard-to-reach heights, ensuring that tasks such as maintenance, construction, repair, and inspection can be carried out effectively. EWPs are crucial for ensuring the safety of workers while maximizing productivity in a wide range of applications, including construction sites, industrial facilities, warehouses, and maintenance activities.

What is the Yellow Card program?

This Yellow Card Training Course provides candidates with comprehensive training in the safe use and operation of the different types of Elevated Work Platforms (EWPs). A “Yellow Card” is awarded to candidates who have undertaken and successfully completed the comprehensive EWP training.

After the successful completion of the Yellow Card training, the operator is issued with a photo ID licence (Yellow Card Licence) and their details are added to the EWPA’s online database. The course must cover the requirements of AS2550.10: Cranes, Hoists and Winches – Safe Use – Mobile Elevating Work Platforms.
