About this Introduction to the Gas Supply Industry & Excavate and Locate Assets (Bundle) Course

This bundled course provides the foundational skills and knowledge to begin work in the natural gas and utilities sectors. It combines core units from both the Introduction to the Gas Supply Industry (5 Core Units) and Excavate and Locate Utility Assets (2 Core Units) programs—offering comprehensive training in gas infrastructure, excavation work, asset location, and manual handling.

The course also includes a non-accredited Confined Space Awareness module to support safe entry procedures for restricted environments.

Course Outline

This practical and theory-based course is designed for new entrants and workers in the gas, civil construction, or utilities sectors.

Training covers:

  • Introduction to natural gas systems

  • Health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures

  • Establishing and working in a utilities infrastructure worksite

  • Basic work activities in a gas industry environment

  • Locating, proving, and protecting utility assets

  • Conducting general excavation work safely

  • Manual tasks and risk reduction techniques

  • Awareness of confined space hazards and responsibilities

Delivered by industry-experienced trainers, this course ensures participants are job-ready for field-based roles in gas and utilities.

All course participants must be:

  • 18 years or older
  • Able to read, understand, and write English
  • Able to produce and meet the evidence of identity criteria as per SafeWork / Worksafe identification requirements

Protective Personal Equipment – safety boots, high-visibility vests, and hard hats– is mandatory.

If a participant requires a reassessment for a High-Risk Work Licence an additional $250.00 + GST reassessment fee will apply.

Private courses can be arranged at any of our facilities in New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland, or for added convenience, we can come to you and deliver the course at your site, provided your site meets training and assessment requirements.

Learning Outcome
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the structure and function of the gas supply system

  • Apply WHS and environmental procedures on-site

  • Prepare and work within a utilities infrastructure work area

  • Locate underground services using industry-accepted techniques

  • Perform safe excavation work with proper documentation

  • Identify and manage risks in manual handling tasks

  • Demonstrate awareness of confined space hazards

Outcome
On successful completion, participants will receive:

  • A nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for accredited units

  • A Certificate of Attendance for the non-accredited Confined Space Awareness module

If a participant withdraws from a qualification/unit, with less than seven (7) business days notice prior to commencement, Kallibr Training reserves the right to retain the 30% administration booking fee.

No refund will be provided within two (2) business days prior to commencement. No refund will be permitted after course commencement or if a participant fails to attend on the scheduled commencement date.
