Bluescope Lysaght
Introduction
Lysaght is a division of BlueScope in Australia. Manufacturing roofing and walling, gutters and downpipes, purlins, fencing, structural formwork and more, the company has dozens of plants across the country including a location in Emu Plains in Sydney’s West.
This factory is fitted with a gantry crane, and the Bluescope Lysaght team wanted to ensure all staff were up to date with their skills and knowledge on the safe operation of the crane.
However, with round-the-clock shift times and productivity targets to meet, it was difficult to set aside time for training without impacting the normal course of business.
Our Solution
Kallibr Training (RTO 32365) worked with the Bluescope Lysaght team to deliver on site gantry crane training over a 20 day period, working around staff shift times.
The business has ten staff on a full-time night roster, so our assessor worked around the clock to ensure all shifts were covered and there was no disruption to regular work.
The results
The Lysaght team now have their production team trained and competent in RIIHAN305D – Operate a gantry or overhead crane and RIIHAN203E – Conduct lifting operations.
Our flexible training program was delivered on-site meaning no travel or time away from work, and no overtime requirement for staff training outside of normal work hours.
