CPR Training
The perfect addition to your First Aid training. HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. This unit will provide a sound knowledge and skill base to provide CPR to a casualty in a range of situations including community and workplace settings.
Common questions about CPR Training
How often should I renew my CPR certificate?
Every 12 months. Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and Safe Work Australia's first aid code recommend refreshing CPR (HLTAID009) yearly, and most workplaces ask for it.
How long is the CPR course?
The CPR course takes 4 hours, face to face, with theory and hands-on practical training.
Is the CPR course nationally recognised?
When you are assessed as competent you receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTAID009, issued by Kallibr Training (RTO 32365).
What are the entry requirements for CPR?
There are no prerequisites. You also need to be 18 years or older; able to read, understand, and write English; able to produce and meet the evidence of identity criteria as per SafeWork / Worksafe identification requirements.
How much does the CPR course cost?
The fee for each class shows next to its date before you book. For a group or onsite quote, call 1300 668 141.
Where can I do CPR?
At our training centres in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria, as dates are scheduled. We can also run it at your workplace for a group, if your site meets the training and assessment requirements.
How is CPR assessed?
You are assessed through Q&A theory, practicals and observations. If you are not yet competent in a part, your trainer explains what to work on and the options for reassessment.
Do I need a USI for CPR?
Yes. A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is needed for all nationally recognised training. It is free and takes a few minutes to create at usi.gov.au.
What do I need to bring to CPR?
Bring current photo ID and your USI, and wear enclosed safety boots and clothes suited to practical work. Your booking confirmation lists anything else this course needs.
What if I need help with reading or writing on CPR?
You need to read, write and speak English well enough to work safely and complete the assessment. If you would like support, tell us when you book or call 1300 668 141, and we will talk through the options before you enrol.
Can I get credit for units I already hold on CPR?
Possibly not. If you hold a Statement of Attainment for the same unit, we can give you credit for it. Send us a copy before you book, or call 1300 668 141.
Can you run CPR for my team?
Yes. For 4 or more people we run private classes at our centres or at your site, around your shifts. Ask for a team quote.
