Alder Constructions

Introduction

Alder Constructions is a leading engineering and construction company with locations across QLD and NSW. The business is developing its capabilities to deliver complex civil projects and therefore needed to upskill its team.

With access to their own CSQ funding, Alder Constructions had the opportunity and the funding but time was at a premium with many concurrent projects on the books.

Finding a registered training organisation that could deliver on site training would allow the team to save time and money travelling to a training centre and give the students valuable experience on a live construction site.

Our Solution

Kallibr Training (RTO 32365) delivered live earthmoving training on-site, offering a flexible way to deliver training on a live construction site.

This allowed the students to train together in a safe real-life environment under the supervision of our professional civil trainer. Alder has had more than 25 students complete training in Telehandler, Articulated Haul Truck, Skid Steer and Front End Loader. These courses encompass both theory and practical modules undertaken using their own equipment on site.

With 20 students now fully qualified in multiplex plant tickets, Alder Constructions is able to pursue more civil construction projects and has been able to offer its team training and development opportunities without time away from site.

The results

Health Safety and Environment Advisor at Alder Constructions, Rob, notes that “the ease of bookings and course details is a real plus for the experience. The trainer Craig has always been great to deal with and a pleasure to do training with.”

HSE & HR Manager Paul echoes this sentiment, noting that the whole experience was professional and seamless from start to finish.

“Earlier this month Alder Constructions arranged for on-site delivery of a number of civil plant

operations at our Parkwood Project on the Gold Coast. We had eight experienced civil workers participating – these workers were a mix of leading hands, foremen, HSE professionals and labour hire professionals. Kallibr Training engaged an experienced trainer, Craig Brown, to deliver the onsite theory and practical elements of the course,” notes Paul.

“Wow! The day was a great success on all accounts. From the ease and speed of booking, to the structured and seamless on-site delivery and the professional and student centred approach by the trainer, Kallibr Training made the day worthwhile, engaging and fun for all,” adds Paul.

“Thanks Leigh-Ann and team for bringing it all together in such an effortless manner. Everyone is keen to engage in the next on-site course opportunity with Kallibr Training.”
