Thursday 28th April is World Day for Safety and Health at Work and Workers’ Memorial Day

Around the globe, workers across all types of industries are bringing safety into sharp focus today.

World Safety Day is supported by Safe Work Australia and provides an opportunity to reflect on how to prevent occupational deaths, injuries, diseases and illnesses. It is also a day to remember those who have died from a work-related injury or illness.

The Australian safety statistics are sobering: in 2020 alone,194 workers were fatally injured at work, with a disproportionate number of heavy machinery operators being injured on the job.

A high risk industry

Construction work can be an incredibly high-risk activity, with heavy loads, huge machinery, hazardous environments, sharp and dangerous equipment, open pits and working at heights being par for the course on many sites.

That’s why on World Safety Day, here at Kallibr Training (RTO 32365) we’d like to highlight how high quality training leads to competent and confident workers and ultimately reduces the risks on site.

Get trained and reduce the risk

Kallibr Training is an RTO accredited to provide national recognised high-quality training and assessment for licences to perform high-risk work and operate machinery such as cranes, EWPs and earthmoving equipment.

We’re specialists in high-risk work licences, with experienced and knowledgeable trainers across a range of areas including lifting, access, earthmoving and safety. Our commitment to training on safety and safe work practices extends to our own staff, and we’re proud of our 100% safety record.

Real equipment and real site conditions are what you get when you train with Kallibr Training. This focus on realistic training conditions prepares individuals for the best outcomes on the job, and that means a safer workplace.

However, the theory component shouldn’t be underestimated: at Kallibr Training we remain committed to ensuring that training is accessible to everyone with our investment in making theory available online. This means that safety training is easily accessible for workers, no matter where they are stationed.
