Earthmoving Operator Training That Fits the Afternoon Shift

United Personnel Traffic needed to upskill its earthmoving operators without disrupting its afternoon-shift operations. Kallibr Training delivered a tailored, multi-plant Earthmoving Operator program across three days, allowing four operators to complete three units of competency each.

By scheduling training around the crew’s working hours and coordinating CSQ funding support, Kallibr helped the business meet its training needs without relying on a standard daytime schedule.

The Challenge

United Personnel Traffic needed its operators to complete multiple earthmoving units of competency, but standard daytime training did not suit the way its crew worked.

The business needed a flexible solution that would allow operators to complete the required training while accommodating its afternoon shift.

The Training Solution

Kallibr delivered a multi-plant Earthmoving Operator training program from 13–15 October 2026, with training scheduled from 2pm to 9pm each day.

The program covered three units of competency:

  • RIIMPO320F – Conduct civil construction excavator operations
  • RIIMPO317F – Conduct roller operations
  • RIIMPO321F – Conduct civil construction wheeled front end loader operations

Rather than asking the client to work around a standard training timetable, Kallibr aligned delivery with the afternoon shift. Additional lighting enabled training to continue safely into the evening, and trainer Rob delivered the sessions.

Kallibr also coordinated Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) funding support, helping simplify the process for the client.

How Kallibr Training Supported United Personnel Traffic

The program was designed around the operational requirements of United Personnel Traffic.

By delivering training between 2pm and 9pm, Kallibr accommodated the afternoon shift while providing practical training across the three earthmoving units.

The approach combined flexible scheduling, practical plant operator training and assistance with the CSQ funding process.

CSQ Funding for Earthmoving Operator Training

Eligible Queensland workers and businesses may be able to access Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) funding for selected building and civil construction training.

Kallibr’s CSQ Building / Civil Specific Price List for October 2026–September 2027 includes an Earthmoving Bundle covering up to three machines.

CSQ Earthmoving Bundle Pricing

The published CSQ-funded amount for the Earthmoving Bundle is $700. Funding and gap fees are subject to CSQ eligibility requirements, available funding and the applicable course arrangements.

The Earthmoving Bundle includes options such as excavator, roller and wheeled front end loader operations, allowing eligible participants to select up to three machines.

CSQ funding is not automatic. Confirm eligibility and the applicable participant contribution with Kallibr before enrolment.

The Results

Four operators each completed three units of competency, delivering a total of 12 unit completions across the three-day program.

The training was delivered around the business’s afternoon-shift requirements, with additional lighting supporting safe training into the evening. Kallibr also coordinated CSQ funding support to simplify the process for the client.

Following the successful delivery, United Personnel Traffic booked another course for early November to continue upskilling its workforce.

The program demonstrated how flexible scheduling and practical training delivery can help businesses meet workforce development needs while accommodating operational demands.
