An Elevated Work Platform (AS2550.10; 1.3.7) is a mobile machine (device) that is self-propelling, or towable by trailer or truck and used to move persons, tools, and materials to elevated working positions. An EWP consists of at least a work platform with controls, an extending structure, and a chassis. There are many variations of EWPs, but they can be classified as either Boom type or Scissor type.
