Course Description:

This course specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely and effectively operate explosive power tools (EPTs) using explosive charges in a magazine to fasten materials or fix fasteners to bases.

Location:

Private Course only. Private training can be organised and conducted at our campus or onsite if the following training and assessment requirements are met:

  • A room with access to power, a blank wall for presentation, a projector screen or a large TV, table/s and chairs.
  • Clear flat operating area for practical training.
  • *Explosive Power Tools i.e Ramset* in safe/serviceable working order in accordance with manufacturers specifications

Course Outcomes

Learning Outcome

On completion of the course, participants will have gained the following skills and knowledge to:

  • Plan and prepare to set up, operate and maintain indirect action EPTs.
  • Set out fasteners.
  • Operate EPTs.
  • Maintain EPTs and kit.
  • Secure and store EPT equipment and charges.
  • Clean up after operating EPTs.

Outcome

Upon successful completion, student will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

What are explosive power tools?

A powder or gas discharge to fire a fastener into hard materials such as concrete, mild steel and masonry. An example of an explosive power tool would be a Ramset

Can I use Explosive Power Tools onsite?

Please consult with the Person Conducting Business or Undertaking (PCBU). Some commercial sites have banned the use of explosive power tools onsite.

Important Information

If a participant withdraws from a qualification/unit, with less than seven (7) business days notice prior to commencement, Kallibr Training reserves the right to retain the 30% administration booking fee.

No refund will be provided within two (2) business days prior to commencement. No refund will be permitted after course commencement or if a participant fails to attend on the scheduled commencement date.
