Course Description:

This course covers the requirements for those who are required to work in confined spaces in accordance with Australian Standard 2865.2009.

Successfully completing this course will allow you to identify, plan, enter and work in confined spaces with or without a breathing apparatus.

This course meets Sydney Water confined space entry requirements.

Location

Public courses run at Kallibr Training locations in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

Private training can be organised and conducted onsite if the following training and assessment requirements are met:

  • A room with access to power, a blank wall for presentation, a projector screen or a large TV, table/s and chairs.
  • Suitable confined space or simulated confined space for practical training

Course Outcomes

Learning Outcome

On completion of the course, participants will have gained the following skills and knowledge in:

  • Legislative Requirements: WHS, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice
  • Identify confined spaces
  • Planning to work: Hazard management, exposure standards and consultation
  • Following Procedures: Equipment inspections, atmospheric testing, entry permits and reporting
  • Confined Space Entry: Access, egress, height safety, rescue
  • Equipment use: PPE, breathing apparatus, atmospheric monitors, communications
  • Conclude Work: Clean up, inspection, storage and reporting

Outcome

A nationally recognised Statement of Attainment in RIIWHS202D – Enter and Work in a Confined Space, MSMWHS201 – Conduct Hazard Analysis, MSMWHS216 – Operate Breathing Apparatus, MSMWHS217 – Gas Test Atmospheres, MSMPER200 – Work in accordance with an Issued Permit, MSMPER300 – Issue work permit

What is a confined space?

WHS Regulations state: A ‘confined space’ means an enclosed or partially enclosed space that:

  • is not designed or intended to be occupied by a person
  • is, or is designed or intended to be, at normal atmospheric pressure while any person is in the space; and
  • is or is likely to be a risk to health and safety from an atmosphere that does not have a safe oxygen level

If a participant withdraws from a qualification/unit, with less than seven (7) business days notice prior to commencement, Kallibr Training reserves the right to retain the 30% administration booking fee.

No refund will be provided within two (2) business days prior to commencement. No refund will be permitted after course commencement or if a participant fails to attend on the scheduled commencement date.
